NOTAN OFFICE is available for new projects

NOTAN OFFICE is a young architecture studio based in Brussels and founded by Frédéric Karam. The studio has carried out projects in Belgium, the Lebanon and is also active in Switzerland. The studio’s projects take place in both the public and private sector.

NOTAN OFFICE won first prize in the 2018 Contemporary Architecture Awards in Uccle as well as the Highly Commended prize in the World Architecture Awards for the LINCOLN roof extension project.

In 2019, the studio won Urban Design Practice of the Year in the Build Architecture Awards. In 2020, two of the studio’s creations will be shown at the Venice Biennale Architecture Exhibition.

Aware that each project requires a tailored approach, the studio doesn’t hesitate to work in collaboration or association with other architects, landscapers, artists or urban planners.

The Brussels-based studio believes that a project must fulfill many criteria in placement, form, materials, and even furniture. The project must maintain a certain coherence.

The surveying and description of the land, as well as the programme through research, the creation of models and regular communication with client allows the creation of a space which takes the form of a common intellectual projection ; taking into account the existing material and logic ahead of arbitrary designs as as response to a given problem.
